You can have a birthday party, graduation party, a party for your child’s class, and be the center of attention in the middle of our atrium. Not only is the Aquarium one of Atlanta's top activities, but our top-of-the-line parties are designed so that you are able to relax while Aquarium staff do all the work. Size of group

All parties are designed for up to 15 people, including adults. Children under 1 admitted free. If a party has more than 15 people, $35 per extra person will be charged. A maximum of 30 people may attend in one party room. If additional guests come on the day of party, payment must be made before entering the party. Arriving early to make payment is recommended. Parties with 25 people or more are subject to room availability.

Saturday: 10:00-11:30 a.m.; 12:30-2 p.m.; 3-4:30 p.m.

All parties are deisigned to meet your individual needs. In addition, parties for children under the age of six will include a visit with an Aquarium mascot. For parties with children age six and older, we tour the behind-the-scenes area at the top of the Tropical Diver gallery, presented by AirTrain Airways, or have a mascot visit. Children age five and under are not allowed on Behind the Scenes Tours. The tour and the mascot visit will occur within the 90-minute party.

Frequently Asked Questions About Parties

Can we bring our own food?

Outside food is not allowed in the Aquarium but you are welcome to order food from our food vendor. A food list is available when booking the party.

What type of games will you provide?

We have various games that match the theme of each party as well as typical children’s games. Choice of games we play will depend on the amount of time available.

Is there a limit to the number of guests we can invite?

All parties are for 15 people. There is a $35 charge for each additional guest. Each party area can hold up to 25 people. Parties of 25 or more may be booked based on availability of room space.

Can I have extra time in the room if needed?

The rooms are booked for set times to allow time to clean for the next party, therefore you can only book the room for the set time. If you would like a longer or larger party, you can book two time slots.

Will the cake be decorated with theme of the party?

Yes, the cake and room will be decorated with the theme of the party.

Is the tour through the Aquarium a guided tour?

During the party, there is a short behind-the-scenes tour that takes you to the top of one gallery for children age six and older. Children under the age of six are taken to one of our behind-the-scenes areas but will have a visit with an Aquarium mascot instead of visiting the other area. The admission into the Aquarium is at your leisure after the party and is not a guided tour.

Is the $10 gift card for the Aquarium or can it be used anywhere?

The gift card is for use inside the Aquarium and can be used at any location in the Aquarium, including the gift shops and Café Aquaria.

How can I find out about parties for teens and adults?

We have a party program for all ages. Parties include admission, birthday cake and a tour of some of the spectacular behind-the-scenes areas. Please contact the call center at 404-581-4000 for more information.

Is it possible for a diver to hold up a happy birthday sign for my child in one of the galleries?

This is available at an extra cost.

What is in the gift bag?

It contains an assortment of items that tie into the theme of the party. Items may include bubbles, stickers, water gun, and other toys.

Is there a ratio between adults to children?

No, there is not although you will have to pay extra for more than 10 gift bags.

General Information

Party attendees will be met at the main Aquarium entrance by a party coordinator, who will facilitate entrance into the Aquarium. A “party” sign will identify the party coordinator. The coordinator will be outside the entrance 15 minutes before the party is due to start. Parents may arrive no sooner than 15 minutes before party unless prior arrangements are made. Additional time will not be provided in the party room if party is tardy. All parties must end on time to facilitate next party.

Parties are available for all ages.

All participants must stay with the party during the 90-minute party time. Once party is released into the Aquarium, we advise parents to stay with children.

If parents are dropping off children for party, please arrange to meet the children afterward. Georgia Aquarium is not responsible for children that are dropped off. Your party coordinator will meet your party group at the main Aquarium entrance to facilitate group entry into the Aquarium.

Transportation of items from the parking lot to the party room is not the responsibility of the Georgia Aquarium.

Reservations

$300 non-refundable deposit is due at time of booking. Final guest count and final payment are due three weeks before party date.

When booking a party, the party room is available only for the time booked, therefore parties should start on time to receive the full experience.

All persons attending the party are included in the party count. Children under the age of one are not counted in your party number, however, they will not receive a gift bag or other party favors.

Parents may bring additional room decorations. Balloons and straws are not allowed in the Aquarium. Provided decorations provided include tablecloths and themed centerpiece.

One parking pass will be provided. Please check in with parking attendant and present parking pass upon exiting parking garage. All other cars will need to pay for their own parking.

Date Changes

Date changes must be made at least three weeks before the scheduled party. All changes made less than three weeks of the party date will incur a $100 fee in addition to the total party charge, payable on the date the change is made. If a requested date change is unavailable due to party bookings by other Georgia Aquarium patrons, unfortunately, the request must be considered a cancellation. We will be happy to place you on a waiting list.

Cancellations

All deposits are nonrefundable. A written request is required for all refunds over the non-refundable $300 deposit if you need to cancel. Cancellations made less than three weeks before party date will incur a 50% fee of the total cost of the party. Written requests should be made to guestprograms@georgiaaquarium.org with “Party Cancellation” on the subject line.

Refunds

All deposits are nonrefundable. All refund requests for additional moneys paid must be submitted in writing. There are no refunds for no-shows or tardiness.
