Loggerhead Sea Turtles

Through Georgia Aquarium's research efforts, we are able to rehabilitate and release loggerhead sea turtles back into their natural habitats. We are also able to provide satellite tagging for turtles, which allows them to be tracked after their release. You can help the Aquarium provide care for animals by donating to the Aquarium's Annual Fund

Turtle Nesting in Georgia

The endangered loggerhead sea turtle nests in several wildlife refuges on the Georgia Coast. We are partnering with the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Caretta Project to survey these nesting areas to better understand the needs of both adults and offspring, and how to protect them.
