The Georgia Aquarium educational experience is an opportunity for students to discover the aquatic realm in an immersive learning environment. The Aquarium’s Education Department strives to make the educational experience an extension of the classroom.
The Georgia Aquarium offers school groups two program options when visiting the world’s largest aquarium – an instructor-led program or a self-guided program, Aqua Adventures. The Instructor-Led Educational Experience is available Monday - Friday during the operating academic semesters, August - December and January - May. Aqua Adventures is available August-May. All of the Aquarium’s education programs are aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) at each grade level. So whether your students enjoy the instructor-led education program, or you explore the Aquarium on your own with our self-guided program, their experience will meet GPS.
