Instructor-Led Program


$12 per student

Georgia Aquarium's one-hour instructor-led programs allow for focused learning opportunities where students can expand their understanding of aquatic ecosystems. All programs are aligned to Georgia Performance Standards and include a downloadable Teacher Guide, which includes a lesson overview and activities. Just download it below, and you are on your way to making the Aquarium an extension of your classroom.

Programs take place Monday-Friday and are scheduled at:
9:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Instructor-led programs include admission to Deepo's Undersea 3D Wondershow.

Program Options

Sharks In-Depth 
There is much more to know about sharks than what we see on the surface. Acquire a deeper knowledge of sharks and how scientists learn about them. During this program, students will examine how sharks impact their environment and how humans impact sharks. (Teacher Guide)

Undersea Investigators - Undersea Investigators is an inquiry-based program where students become researchers for the day. During this time, they will learn about aquatic animals and ecosystems through observation and collecting data. During the program, students will also be introduced to conservation efforts and research being conducted in partnership with the Georgia Aquarium. (Teacher Guide)

Planet Shark: Predator or Prey - Add-On $3 Per Student
Planet Shark: Predator or Prey will be available through February 2011 as an add-on to education programs. The exhibit explores the relationships between people and sharks, dispelling myths and providing a better understanding of one of the most misunderstood animals on earth.

The exhibit features real shark fossils, a collection of jaws and teeth, full-size cast models from real specimens and more. The exhibition even features an amazing "frozen in time" display featuring a real, frozen 700-lb Bluefin tuna and its natural predator, a real frozen Mako shark.

Sponsored Education Admissions
Georgia Aquarium developed the Sponsored Education Admissions (SEA) Program in an effort to ensure that diverse audiences, regardless of economic status, have an opportunity to participate in these unique educational experiences at a reduced rate, or in some cases, free of charge. Application deadline for submitting 2010-2011 SEA applications is Friday, February 18, 2011 for schools.Learn more about how to apply for SEA.
