Education General Admission

The 2017-2018 Education Programs are available Monday-Friday on the dates listed below. Blackout dates apply.

Students (PreK-12) $14.00* | Additional chaperones $31.95*
General admission is a self-guided tour through all the Aquarium’s galleries for grades pre-K through 12th where students experience a learning adventure inside the world’s most magical aquarium. Ticket includes all available shows and animal galleries. Shows are subject to availability and are on a first come, first served basis. Show times are subject to change without notice. Teacher resources are available to use! Available August 7, 2017 - May 25, 2018.

Instructor-Led Programs (Call For Availability)

 An exciting 45 minute program, led by an Aquarium Instructor, allows for focused learning opportunities where students can expand their understanding of aquatic ecosystems. Ticket includes aquarium admission, all available shows and animal galleries. Shows are subject to availability and are on a first come, first served basis. Show times are subject to change without notice. Available August 14, 2017 - May 11, 2018.

Instructor-Led Program Descriptions

Pre-Kindergarten to 2nd grade (1:5 complimentary chaperone ratio) (Minimum Age: 4 years old)
Eco-Essentials: Why can‘t a whale shark eat pizza? Can you breathe oxygen underwater? Come explore a diverse selection of habitats to discover where different plants and animals live and what they need to survive. Throughout our journey, we will predict, observe, and compare and contrast across habitats. Let’s dive in! *Note: programs within “Eco-Essentials” are tailored to be developmentally appropriate for each grade level. The program for children in Pre-K is 30 minutes long.

3rd to 5th Grade (1:10 complimentary chaperone ratio)
Hunger Games
: All animals must eat to survive: who will eat and who will get eaten? Join us as we examine life in a variety of ecosystems to explore predator-prey interactions and unique feeding adaptations that animals need to survive. We will end our journey with a discussion about the ecological impact of the predators at the top of the food chain: us!

6th to 8th grade (1:10 complimentary chaperone ratio)
Myth Busters:
Shark Edition Sharks are portrayed as lean mean hunting machines, but is there more behind those jaws than meets the eye? Separate fact from fiction as we discover a variety of shark species at Georgia Aquarium. From blacktip to zebra sharks, learn how scientists classify this awe-inspiring species based on physical characteristics and behaviors. Throughout our journey, we will discuss how sharks and their ecosystems are interdependent on one another and how humans have affected this relationship over time.

9th to 12th grade (1:10 complimentary chaperone ratio)
Oceanic Occupations
: Join us as we explore a variety of career pathways one can take to care for our animals here at Georgia Aquarium. Dive deep below our ocean waves and explore how animal care specialists, chemists, engineers, and nutritionists keep Georgia Aquarium afloat! Can you see yourself pursuing any of these careers? Let’s see if you have what it takes!

Chaperone Policy For All Education Programs

  • Pre-K - 2nd Grade: 1 complimentary chaperone for every 5 students
  • 3rd Grade - 12th Grade: 1 complimentary chaperone for every 10 students
  • Additional chaperones are $31.95, plus sales tax
  • Only Complimentary Chaperones are permitted on the behind the scenes portion of the instructor-led program due to limited space. Additional chaperones will tour the main floor of the aquarium during the program.
  • Chaperone pricing listed is only available for chaperones on your school reservation. Chaperones that add on the day of the visit will pay full-priced daily general admission at the ticket window.

Add-On Options (No Tax Added)

Lunch With dolphins:
$9.50 per meal
Dive into a delicious lunch while you enjoy the AT&T Dolphin Celebration pre-show. You’ll probably be taking your last bite as your show begins! Pick up your meal in the Dolphin Theater and enjoy! Meal includes turkey sandwich on whole wheat with condiments on the side, Goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, and bottled water. 

Café Aquaria Combo Meal:
$13.00 per meal
Enjoy a hot and tasty cheese pizza or chicken fingers, Goldfish Crackers, and fruit snacks in Georgia Aquarium’s own Café Aquaria. Served with your choice of fountain drink. Meal comes with a souvenir recycled aquarium-themed tote bag - a perfect take-away!

Café Aquaria Picnic Pack:
$9.50 per meal
Interested in a quick grab-and-go option for your group? The Café Aquaria Picnic Pack is just for you! Just drop by Café Aquaria, pick up your pre-packaged meal, and be on your way. You can even take this meal with you to-go! Meal includes turkey sandwich on whole wheat with condiments on the side, Goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, and bottled water.

*Meals must be purchased in advance through the Georgia Aquarium Group Sales Department at 404-581-4121. No exchanges, refunds, or substitutions. Meals are subject to availability. Please call 404-581-4121 for availability if adding meals within 48 hours of the date of visit. Entire group must purchase the same option. Lunch with dolphins is only available for groups seeing the AT&T Dolphin Celebration.

Group Photo Options

Photobook:
$10.00 add-on per person
Take home your memories in a unique and colorful book, including facts about Georgia Aquarium, our animals, and conservation. The book contains seven different photos of your group, including a postcard size and wallet size, as well as all your digital files included! (Photo options must be purchased for the total number of people in the group.)

Digital photo pass:
$5.00 per person add-on
All your memories in digital form, ready for you to print, share, and post at your leisure!(Photo options must be purchased for the total number of people in the group.)

Education photo:
$1.00 per person add-on
Every student is sent home with an easy memento of their visit to the aquarium, a photo of their class or chaperone group, with the option to add the class, teacher, or school name on the photo at no additional cost. (Photo options must be purchased for the total number of people in the group.)

Seaside Sounds: Group Performance Venue Program

The Seaside Sounds Program provides schools and entertainment groups the unique opportunity to showcase their talent at Georgia Aquarium. Available for bands, orchestras, choral groups, and dance groups! Contact us at 404-581-4121 for more details and availability!

Reservation and Payment Policies

  • Complete a reservation form and e-mail or fax it back to the Group Sales office (404-581-4176 or groupsales@georgiaaquarium.org) with $100 non-refundable deposit.
  • A confirmation/invoice will be e-mailed back to you. If you have not paid a deposit at this point, your deposit is due at this time. Deposits are applied toward the total balance.
  • Final numbers and payment are due 2 weeks prior to visit. Please plan accordingly. Reservations are subject to cancellation without advance payment.
  • Ticket orders placed within 2 weeks of visit must be paid in full at the time of booking.
  • To update ticket orders and/or make payment via major credit card, please call 404-581-4121 or e-mail groupsales@georgiaaquarium.org.
  • Company/school checks should include the confirmation/invoice number and be sent to: Georgia Aquarium, Attn: Group Sales, 225 Baker St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313. No personal checks.
  • Georgia Aquarium does not issue refunds for any unused portion of your ticket order.
