Aug. 31: Aviva & The Flying Penguins
It’s true that penguins can’t really fly; our own Aquarium experts will tell you that. However, lead singer Aviva’s musical journey has brought her together with many talented artists throughout the Southeast with whom she’s had the privilege to work before forming her own band, consisting of a a group of dedicated musicians who call themselves The Flying Penguins. Having formed in 2009, Aviva and the Flying Penguins began performing soon after in Atlanta and Tennessee and recently released their first CD. So, while the penguins you see in their habitat tonight at Georgia Aquarium don’t fly, you’ll have a good time watching our performers on stage take flight performing their own exciting, dynamic and original music. And for its fans in Atlanta and beyond, Yacht Rock Schooner is a light, backwards version of the Yacht Rock Revue Mothership. With a smooth sounds of soft rock, this crew performs the tunes of Kenny Loggins, the Bee Gees, Ambrosia and Michael McDonald, among others. So put on your captains hats and deck shoes, because this group is sure to put listeners in the mood to groove.
