The Ocean Voyager exhibit was specially designed to house whale sharks, the largest fish species in the world. Schools of jacks, squadrons of small and large stingrays, enormous goliath grouper and even a hammerhead shark all ply the waters of this captive ocean habitat containing more than six million gallons of saltwater. With 4,574 square feet of viewing windows, a 100-foot-long underwater tunnel, 185 tons of acrylic windows and the second largest viewing window in the world, visitors will have multiple opportunities to view all of these magnificent animals. The Ocean Voyager viewing window is the second largest viewing window in the world.  It is 27 feet high, 63 feet wide and weighs 120 tons.  When standing in front of the window, it feels as though you are just inches away from the animals, but in fact, the acrylic of the viewing window is two feet thick.

The Ocean Voyager Gallery is home to seven different kinds of sharks: whale sharks, great hammerhead sharks, blacktip reef sharks, spotted or tassled wobbegong sharks, zebra sharks, sand tiger sharks and sandbar sharks.

At its longest, widest and deepest parts, the Ocean Voyager habitat measures 293 feet long, 126 feet wide and 30 feet deep, allowing even the largest fish in the world, the whale shark, to swim long distances before having to turn around.  With 6.3 million gallons of water, the habitat is the largest indoor exhibit of fish in the world.

• It took 1.8 million pounds of sea salt to make the Ocean Voyager exhibit as salty as the ocean.
• The 6.3 million gallons of water in Ocean Voyager can be filtered in 60 minutes.
• The pipes that filter the water in the Ocean Voyager exhibit stretch 61 miles, or the length of I-285 around Atlanta.
• The whale sharks in Ocean Voyager may grow to be up to 25 to 35 feet in length.
