Get Involved

If you have ever wanted to know how the world's largest aquarium works, how much a whale shark eats or what the ocean fans like you are up to, then the Georgia Aquarium's Teen Volunteer Program is for you!

The Deal

The Georgia Aquarium Teen Volunteer Program begins in the summer and continues on weekends and school breaks throughout the school year.

During the summer, teens will assist Camp H20 for one full week (40 hours) and then assist in the following areas for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Aquarium Greeter positions
  • Mascot assistance
  • Birthday parties
  • Conservation Carts
  • Arts & Crafts assistance
During the school year, teens can expect to assist in the following areas, mostly on weekends:
  • Aquarium Greeter positions
  • Mascot assistance
  • Birthday parties
  • Conservation Carts
  • Arts & Crafts assistance
  • Camp H2O (during school breaks)

After 12 consecutive months of full participation and good performance, teens may continue in the program, having the opportunity to apply for a volunteer position behind-the-scenes as a Biologist Assistant.
