Release Day
Nandi Enjoys Her New Home
After adapting beautifully to the conditions of her temporary holding pool, Nandi was released today into the Ocean Voyager exhibit, built by The Home Depot. At first, she was unsure of leaving her familiar surroundings, but the Aquarium's husbandry staff gently encouraged Nandi to swim out of the pool and into her new, 6.3 million gallon home.
Georgia Aquarium staff cheered as Nandi spread her wings and glided gracefully into the open waters of Ocean Voyager. She was immediately greeted by schools of golden trevally and crevalle jack, who were eager to become a part of her new entourage. It didn't take long for her to explore the entirety of the exhibit.
The view of Nandi from Ocean Voyager's largest window was breathtaking as she swam through large schools of fish. After the incredible effort contributed toward Nandi's transport, it is truly rewarding to watch her adapt smoothly to her new home. We hope you'll join us in welcoming this amazing creature to Georgia Aquarium!
