Atlanta
(May 23, 2007) –
The Georgia Aquarium celebrated its five-millionth guest today, kicking off a weekend of downtown Atlanta festivities. Pemberton Place® will celebrate the Georgia Aquarium’s five-millionth guest on the facility’s 18-month anniversary and welcome a new addition to downtown Atlanta’s tourism family with the grand opening of the NEW World of Coca-Cola®.
The lucky five-millionth guests, Amy Warner and Dawn Zimmerman, of Erie, Pa., were greeted by Georgia Aquarium benefactor Bernie Marcus, President and Executive Director Jeff Swanagan and Aquarium staff members. Warner and Zimmerman were visiting the Aquarium while in Atlanta for the American Association of Critical Care Nurses National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition. They received annual passes from the Aquarium and prizes from Aquarium partners AirTran Airways®, Georgia Pacific® and The Home Depot®. To commemorate the occasion, the Georgia Aquarium served cake and Coca-Cola® products during the ceremony and offered $0.50 tickets to “Deepo’s Undersea 3D Wondershow” in their 4D Theater.
