For Educators

Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin is ideal for use as a classroom and educational teacher resource.

Since its opening, Georgia Aquarium has always valued learning as part of our important overall mission. Our Education team, led by Dr. Brian Davis, strives to ensure that education is a basis for everything we do. We’ve traditionally embraced our very unique form of education that uses entertainment as a means for inspiring kids (and adults) on the significance of aquatic animals and habitats to the world.

With our most recent venture, Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin, the Georgia Aquarium takes a bigger, broader step in our commitment to education. Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin is just one of six new TV series which make up ABC’s weekly educational programming block, "Litton’s Weekend Adventure." This program is created specifically with learning in mind, and is designed to meet the educational needs and natural curiosity of children.

While many children and pre-teens will enjoy the show at home on the weekends, Georgia Aquarium is positioning the 26-episode show as a perfect resource for teachers in the classroom. With a planned curriculum specific to a broad range of ages, and matched to every episode in the season, Georgia Aquarium will soon be reaching out to educators and administrators to aid in the creation of additional program materials that can be integrated into the classroom. It is our hope that teachers use this television show for kids and the associated curriculum to enhance learning and inspire interest in aquatic animals around the world.

Especially for parents and educators - we now offer online activity guides which accompany most of the broadcase shows, so your kids can enhance their learning and enjoyment of Ocean Mysteries! Download the guides.
