Explore the secrets of the Georgia Aquarium! Discover some of our most popular exhibits from a view that only a Behind the Scenes tour can give you! Get closer to the stars of the Aquarium (our animals) and learn about what it takes to keep the world’s largest aquarium running.
Sea Keepers
Learn about aquatic care from beluga whales to whale sharks.
This tour is for ages 10 through adult.
- Visit the top of the live coral reef exhibit where you will discover the secrets of the tropical waters and mangrove forest, located above Tropical Diver, presented by Air-Tran Airways.
- Hear the sounds of the "sea canaries" as you look over the top of the beluga whale exhibit, in the Cold Water Quest, presented by Georgia-Pacific.
- Observe where the Aquarium team cares for the animals and prepares their food as you visit the Commissary and Veterinary Clinic.
- Enjoy the view at the top of the largest ocean exhibit in North America (Ocean Voyager, presented by Home Depot), and observe the world’s largest fish, the whale shark, as it swims below you.
- Includes complimentary souvenir photo at top of an exhibit.
Tour Times: Top of the hour from noon until 4 p.m. daily
Cost: $50 per person over general admission; $25 for Annual Pass Members
Tour Length: 1 hour

Family Behind the Scenes Tours
Family Behind the Scenes Tour is offered for ages 5 through adult. Please sign up for a Sea Keepers or Ocean Adventure tour if everyone in the party is older than 10.
- Visit the top of the live coral reef exhibit where you will discover the secrets of the tropical waters and mangrove forest, located above Tropical Diver, presented by Air-Tran Airways.
- Enjoy the view at the top of the world's largest exhibit (Ocean Voyager, presented by Home Depot), and observe the world’s largest fish, the whale shark, as it swims below you.
- Tour includes fun family activities with artifacts (like shark jaws) and activities to help you discover the amazing aquatic animals at the Aquarium and how the team cares for them.
Tour Times: 4 p.m. Monday - Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday-Sunday
Cost: $35 per person over general admission: $17.50 for Annual Pass Members
Tour Length: 45 minutes
Meeting Place: First floor in front of River Scout, presented by Southern Company No high heels allowed on the tour.
Ocean Adventures
See your favorite animals from a whole new perspective.
This tour is for ages 10 through adult.
- Visit the top of the live coral reef exhibit where you will discover the secrets of the tropical waters and mangrove forest, located above Tropical Diver, presented by Air-Tran Airways.
- Enjoy the view at the top of the world's largest exhibit (Ocean Voyager, presented by Home Depot), and observe the world's largest fish, the whale shark, as it swims below you. You will also learn what it takes to support and run such a large exhibit while viewing the incredible Ocean Voyager filtration system.
Tour Times: On the half hour beginning at 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily
Cost: $35 per person over general admission: $17.50 for Annual Pass Members
Tour Length: 45 minutes
Meeting Place: First floor in front of River Scout, presented by Southern Company

VIP Tours
Enjoy a customized tour designed exclusively for your private party. Includes exclusive views of our overhead river and the filtration system for the largest exhibit in the world!
- Visit the top of the live coral reef exhibit where you will discover the secrets of the tropical waters and mangrove forest, located above Tropical Diver, presented by Air-Tran Airways.
- Hear the sounds of the "sea canaries" as you look over the top of the beluga whale exhibit, in the Cold Water Quest, presented by Georgia-Pacific.

Suggested Tour Times (All VIP Tours require one week advance reservation): Weekdays: 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Weekends: 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. With advance notice, we can accommodate different times. Cost: $550 plus admission for up to six guests, $75 for each additional guest, 10 guests total.

General Information
All participants will meet on the first floor in front of River Scout, presented by Southern Company. A Behind the Scenes Tour sign will identify the tour. The tour guide will arrive 15 minutes before the tour start time. All tours leave on time. Guests arriving up to 10 minutes late will be escorted to join the rest of the tour already in progress. No refunds will be issued for missing part or all of a tour.
- All tours can be booked by individuals or by a group.
- No high heels allowed on the tour.
- Tours will not exceed 15 people.
- Payment in full required at the time of booking. Booking can be made by calling the Georgia Aquarium call center at 404-581-4444 or at the ticket window.
- There are no refunds for no-shows.
- Date changes must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled time of the tour.
- All tours are subject to change due to medical procedures or other unforeseen circumstances.
- No food or drink is allowed on the tour.
