Campers spent the week engaged in fun and exciting activities! They discovered interesting facts about our aquatic friends and their habitats, as well as explore the wondrous ocean ecosystem. All Aquarium galleries and presentations were included.​

Backyard Buddies

Ages: 5 – 7 years old

Set out on an expedition to discover the amazing flora and fauna that can be found in your own backyard! Team up in inquiry based activities to explore all things Georgia, from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean. Learn about the state that Georgia Aquarium calls home with crafts, games, animals, hands-on activities, and meet and greets with animal experts.  By the end of the week, campers will have investigated a variety of Georgia ecosystems and gained the necessary knowledge to be an effective Backyard Buddy!

Junior Aquarist

Ages: 8 – 10 years old

Calling all future marine biologists! Discover how to become a junior aquarist and researcher through hands-on activities and behind the scenes exploration. Meet with specialists and learn about animal diets, behavioral training, field research, veterinary care, scuba diving and water testing. Dive deep into the world of marine science and find out what it takes to work at the largest aquarium in the western hemisphere. If your camper is interested in working at a zoo or aquarium one day, this will be a great introduction to marine biology and a fun new way to see the Aquarium!

Scientists of the Sea

Ages: 11 – 13 years old

Do you have what it takes to become a Scientist of the Sea? Join us as we embark on an adventure that will put you in the shoes of a marine biologist. This week will inspire and educate campers about marine science through hands-on experiments and exploration. Campers will explore shark anatomy, complete a dissection, and interact with some of Georgia Aquarium’s experts. From exploring sensational sharks to colorful coral, come along as we take a deeper dive into the life of a Scientist of the Sea!
