Do you have on-site coordinators?

We do not and strongly recommend that you hire a coordinator for your day.

Does the room rental charge go towards my food and beverage minimum?

The room rental is a separate fee which goes to supporting the Aquarium operations, and therefore does not apply to your food and beverage minimum.

What is the average size of a wedding at Georgia Aquarium?

The Oceans Ballroom can accommodate 800-1,200 people based on the setup. Wedding events with fewer than 800 guests may not need to use the entire ballroom. Please consult with your sales manager on space needed and pricing for individual rooms.

Can I set up for my wedding the day before?

This is dependent upon ballroom availability, and could incur additional charges. Please consult with your sales manager for more details.

Am I able to get married within the animal habitat?

For the health and safety of our animals, we are unable to utilize the habitats as an event space.

How do I request to have a penguin or other animal participate in my ceremony?

For the health and safety of our animals, they are unable to be guests or participants in your wedding festivities.

Is it possible to change the lighting within exhibits upon request?

Our animals follow a natural lighting cycle that reflects outdoor conditions (i.e. setting sun or cloudy sky) which prevents us from altering their lighting.

Are bridal photos allowed in the aquarium?

Dependent upon operating hours and other events, the bride and groom may be able to take pictures in some of the exhibits.

Is there a reserved bridal room?

Yes, we can offer space for the bridal party to assemble before the wedding. Please ask your sales manager for details.

May I pay for parking for my guests?

Yes, please consult with your sales manager for more details.

Can I have a sparkler exit?

Yes, but the crowd holding sparklers must begin past the ceiling overhang of the ballroom entrance.

Can I bring my own entertainment, decor, florist or DJ?

Yes, as long as they follow the guidelines of the contract. All setup and breakdown of any items not provided by Georgia Aquarium or Wolfgang Puck Catering are the responsibility of the client.

Am I able to have a barat?

Yes, as long as all animals remain in the street and all guests remain on the sidewalk. You must submit a lane closure request to the City of Atlanta for approval (please allow 4-6 weeks for the approval process).

Is there a sound limit?

Yes, it is 85 decibels, and our staff diligently works together to maintain acceptable levels.

Is there a cake cutting fee?

We are delighted to slice and serve your cake at no additional charge if the cake is provided by Wolfgang Puck Catering. If the cake is provided by an outside vendor, we do apply a $2 per person cake cutting fee.

What do you need to hold a date for a wedding?

Once you select a date with your sales manager and they confirm availability, we will send you a contract to confirm the date and times. We ask that you wait to send out any invitations for the event until all parties have signed the contract.

Can we substitute dessert selection for our own wedding cake to be served?

Yes, we will be happy to provide a champagne toast in lieu of dessert if you would like to provide your own wedding cake in place of Wolfgang Puck Catering dessert.

Can you rent out the Indian Pre-Function for weddings?

This room is used as a part of the ballroom space and is not rented individually.

What is included in the ballroom rental price for weddings?
