You’ll have the opportunity to see a hammerhead training session, learn about methods of animal care, and take a ride over the water in our shark cage to see these predators from a whole new perspective.

Tour Information
Please review all inclusions and restrictions of this tour.
Tour is for guests 7 years old and up. All minors must be supervised by a participating adult throughout the duration of the tour. Georgia Aquarium staff will not be responsible for supervising minors.
Tour length is approximately 60 minutes.
All guests will be required to sign a liability waiver before the tour to participate.
High heeled shoes, food, and drinks are not permitted on this tour.
All personal items, including phones/cameras, will need to be stored before the cage-ride portion of the tour.
Georgia Aquarium is committed to this tour being accessible for all. We ask that participants with disabilities, sensitivities, impairments, or other functional needs inform staff before the tour begins so reasonable accommodations can be made where possible to ensure a positive and safe experience for all participants.
The cage ride portion of the tour may be uncomfortable for those who have difficulty with confined spaces or severe motion sickness. Please inform staff if this poses a concern for your tour.
Guests with severe seafood/shellfish allergies should inform staff before the tour begins.
Due to the nature of caring for animals, content and tour availability is subject to change without notice based on operational needs.
All participants will check-in at the desk on the second floor near the Coastline Café. All tours leave on time. Guests arriving late are not guaranteed the ability to join the tour and no refunds will be issued for those missing all or part of the tour.
Guests will be taken behind-the-scenes to the topside of the SHARKS! Predators of the Deep habitat. This is the only tour that accesses this area of Georgia Aquarium. Be prepared to see hammerhead, silver tip, sand tiger, and tiger sharks from above.
You’ll have the chance to see a Hammerhead training session, discuss methods of animal husbandry with members of the Animal Care team, and learn about shark conservation efforts before taking a ride in our cage over the habitat.
The cage was specifically designed to be utilized in the SHARKS! habitat. With a slatted floor and multiple viewing windows, you’ll be sure to spot the sharks from above! The cage is a ride that will lift off the deck and move over the water for the length of the habitat.
While the cage is not fully enclosed, guests with extreme claustrophobia may find the confined nature of the cage ride difficult.
The cage’s occupants must be placed for a balanced and smooth ride. This may require parties to be placed separately within the cage during the ride. All attempts to keep parties together will be taken within required safety parameters of the cage operation.
Yes, photos are allowed during the on-deck portion of the tour. No personal items, including phones or cameras, are permitted during the cage ride portion of the tour.
Date changes must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled time of the tour by calling 404.581.4000. We do not offer refunds for guests who do not attend their scheduled tour.
Due to the nature of caring for animals, Georgia Aquarium reserves the right to modify, cancel and/or reschedule programs without notice. Reasonable accommodations will be made to reschedule guests as effectively as possible.
