Guest Programs: Accessibility & Universal Experience Internship

The Guest Programs: Universal Experience Intern will learn the key components of creating an intuitive and engaging universal guest experience as it relates to programming, hospitality, and communication throughout Georgia Aquarium.

Interns will shadow staff, including managers, to develop an understanding of how different departments within Georgia Aquarium work together to create an accessible guest experience. The intern’s involvement in these programs may vary by semester and may include the following: surveying communication between departments about accessibility options; assessing the universality of gallery and aquarium signage; working with the accessibility committee on new initiatives; and educating staff members on Georgia Aquarium’s accessibility offerings. At the end of the internship, the intern will learn the fundamentals of hospitality, interpretive methods, and guest experience while completing a semester-long project that will further enhance the accessibility and universal design of Georgia Aquarium.
