SEA Grant Information
SEA Eligibility:
Eligible for Title 1 Schools and select non-profits with education as part of its mission in the State of Georgia.
Title 1 Schools are defined as public schools with 40.00% or greater free or reduced lunch as reported by the Georgia Department of Education. Non-profits must provide an IRS EIN whose registered name matches that of the applying organization. Non-Title 1 but IRS recognized non-profit-affiliated schools must not have tuition that exceeds $5,000 per year.
Application Criteria:
The SEA Grant only covers self-guided general admission and does not include the potential cost of transportation, parking, meals, or any other related field trip costs.
- Submission of an application does not guarantee approval.
- Applications must be accurate and completed in its entirety to be considered.
- Applications are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Applications may take up to 6 weeks to be reviewed. Please keep this turnaround date in mind when submitting an application.
- One application submitted per school employee. Multiple applications by a singular individual will not be considered.
Please keep the following in mind when completing the application:
- Maximum of 150 students covered per field trip visit.
- Maximum of 3 field trip visits per school, per school year.
- Only one approved group per school may visit per day, even if the group size is below the 150‑person maximum.
- Dates available Monday – Thursday from August 3, 2026 – May 27, 2027. Dates not available June 2027-July 2027.
- Arrival times available between 9:30am – 3:30pm, subject to availability.
If you have submitted a reservation form for a paid group visit, you will be ineligible from receiving the SEA Grant.
For the 2026-2027 school year, schools from Clayton and DeKalb County School Districts will not be considered. Please reach out to your county’s district science coordinators to visit us.
