Dan Dipiazzo, Chief Marketing & Experience Officer

Dan Dipiazzo, Chief Marketing & Experience Officer at Georgia Aquarium, is an accomplished leader with more than 30 years of experience in marketing, communications and guest experiences. He oversees all aspects of marketing, sales and guest-facing operations, with a focus on elevating the experience throughout the guest journey.

Dipiazzo’s previous experience in the attractions industry includes almost 20 years in marketing leadership positions at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, one of the world’s largest theme-park companies. He served as Vice President of Marketing for the company’s flagship parks in Orlando – SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, and Aquatica and prior to that he was Vice President of Marketing for Busch Gardens and Water Country USA in Williamsburg, Va. In both roles, he was responsible for all aspects of marketing and sales and led the evolution to more digital and direct marketing approaches. He also served in corporate vice president roles with SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, leading marketing strategy and planning, loyalty and direct marketing, digital marketing, and in-park retail marketing.  He began as a public relations consultant managing national and international communications programs and was part of the team awarded Corporate Public Relations Team of the Year by PRWeek magazine.

Prior to joining Georgia Aquarium, Dipiazzo was Chief Marketing Officer for Feeders Pet Supply, a Top 15 U.S. pet retailer, where he led significant branding, ecommerce and partner marketing initiatives for the fast-growing company.

Earlier in his career, Dipiazzo spent 10 years at a global public relations agency Fleishman-Hillard, where he rose to Senior Vice President and Partner. He managed several major accounts, including McDonald’s, Goodyear, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, KinderCare, Valvoline, AAA, and SeaWorld/Busch Gardens.  He began his career as a newspaper reporter and editor in the St. Louis area.

He earned a Master of Data Marketing Communication from West Virginia University and Bachelor of Journalism from Murray State University in Murray, Ky. He is an instructor in WVU’s master’s degree programs in marketing communications.

Dipiazzo has served on national and regional tourism boards and has been a popular speaker at events including the Arival International Travel Conference and Association of National Advertisers conferences.
