What to Know About Visiting During the World's Biggest Sporting Event 10We Are Open – Day & Night!

Open 365 days a year, hours can vary by day, so itโ€™s a good idea to check the calendar before your visit.

While traffic may be heavier during peak event times, past major sporting events have shown that getting around downtown can actually be easier than expected! With a little planning, your visit to the Aquarium can easily be a fan-favorite part of your Atlanta match day experience.

๐Ÿš— Parking & Traffic

Georgia Aquarium will be open daily, with all major exhibits and presentations available, plus our special Glow Nights event beginning at 4 p.m. each evening. As major soccer events take place across Atlanta guests should plan for increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Rideshare, MARTA public transit, or walking is strongly encouraged when possible.ย 

Additional Parking & Travel Tips:

  • The Aquarium parking garage is accessible via Luckie Street or Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd.
  • For real-time traffic updates, use the 511 Georgia traffic system.
  • We strongly encourage guests to prepay for parking in advance when purchasing tickets.

Make the most of your visit by planning ahead! Daily presentations are guest favorites – from the playful energy of our sea lions to the incredible intelligence of our bottlenose dolphins.

  • Presentation times may vary, so check schedules before your visit.
  • Reservations for Dolphin and Sea Lion presentations can only be made on the day of your visit. You can do so through our app or by visiting our Guest Services desk.
  • Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so reserve early!

To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for all guests, please leave the following items at home:

  • Guns, knives, matches, and lighters
  • Fishing poles
  • Outside food and beverages
  • Balloons, disposable drinking straws, and gum

Pets are not permitted. Only guide dogs for the blind, service dogs for individuals with disabilities, and working dogs in training are allowed. Emotional support animals are not permitted.

Bottle filling stations are located throughout the Aquarium. Just bring a reusable water bottle and straw!

  • Visit on weekdays, early mornings, or later evenings to avoid peak crowds.
  • We recommend about 3-4 hours to view our entire Aquarium.
  • If youโ€™re booking additional experiences, like animal encounters or tours, review the schedule in advance and reserve your seating for presentations.
  • Buy parking in advance for a smoother experience.
  • Georgia Aquariumโ€™s parking deck is cashless. Payment is accepted by card or digital methods only.ย 
  • General Admission guests may exit and reenter the Aquarium during their visit by getting their hand stamped at the Guest Relations desk.
