Legend Has It

An Exploration of Animals and their Depictions Across Cultures

Presented by Michael C. Carlos Museum, Georgia Aquarium, and Zoo Atlanta

Across time, cultures, and continents, animals have made their mark on history. They have many depictions and stories – some more believable than others. Join the Michael C. Carlos Museum, Georgia Aquarium, and Zoo Atlanta as we explore the science behind the legends surrounding these fantastic beasts and create some of our own. Key science topics include fossils, animal features, adaptations, and classification. Projects can be easily integrated with geography, math, and language arts writing standards while engaging maximum student interest and creativity. Parking on Emory University’s campus is free during weekend hours. Parking information can be found here.
