Personal information you disclose to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us.   • Donation information. When you donate to us, we may collect information necessary to facilitate and administer your donation-related information, such as your name, email address, phone number, employer, and donation history.
  • Commercial information. We collect purchase history, Services considered or obtained, and other similar commercial information.
  • Credentials. We collect passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and account access.
  • Payment information. We collect information necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number), and the security code associated with your payment instrument. No payment information is stored on our databases.
  • Visits to Georgia Aquarium. We collect personal information you may provide or that we may capture during or in connection with your visits to Georgia Aquarium.
  • Communication information. We collect personal information included in your communication with us, such as when you share feedback, content, experiences, suggestions, preferences, feedback, or other input.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the Services. This information may include:

  • Online identifiers and device usage information. We may collect online identifiers and device usage information, such as your IP address, cookie identifiers, browser and device identifiers or characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services and other technical information.
  • Geolocation information. We may request access or permission to and track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application, to provide location-based Services.   • To operate our organization and Services. We use your personal information to operate our organization and Services. When you watch videos on the online Services, you agree that we may disclose your video viewing to or obtain information about your video viewing from analytics service providers, advertising partners and social media platforms.

The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties.

USE OF COOKIES AND OTHER TECHNOLOGIES

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information. Please note, we and our third-party service providers may monitor visits to the online Services and sessions of users; this monitoring may log the details of your visits to the online Services and information generated in the course of using the online Services, such as clicks, page visits, text entered, how long you spent on a page, and other details of your visits to or actions on the online Services. Account Information

If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can contact us using the contact information provided below.

Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, some information may be retained in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms and Conditions, comply with legal requirements, or as otherwise in accordance with applicable law.

Opting out of email marketing

CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Some web browsers, mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference. No uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals.

CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS’ PRIVACY RIGHTS

For the purpose of California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, we do not share California residents’ personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

If your rights request is denied, you may lodge an appeal with us. The response to your rights request will inform you of any appeal rights you may have and how you may exercise them.

We may require you to provide your phone number, email address, and the date of your last transaction with us to verify your identity in response to exercising requests of the above type. We may limit our response to your exercise of the above rights as permitted under applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to request any of your rights on your behalf.
