A Commitment to Environmental Protection and Conservation
The Ocean Guardian School Program is a grant initiative coordinated by NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, with funding support from Georgia Aquarium. This program empowers Pre-K–12 schools to take an active role in protecting and conserving their local watersheds, the world’s ocean, and special marine areas such as national marine sanctuaries.
Participating schools receive small grants to implement school- or community-based conservation projects that contribute to the health and protection of their local environment and the ocean. Upon successful completion of their project and approval at the end of the school year, schools earn the official designation of Ocean Guardian School and receive a commemorative banner.
For the 2025–2026 school year, NOAA Ocean Guardian School Program and Georgia Aquarium are collaborating to support environmental stewardship projects across the state of Georgia.
