Sponsored Education Admissions

Georgia Aquarium offers a Sponsored Education Admissions (SEA) Grant to Title 1 Schools and select non-profits with education as part of its mission located in the State of Georgia. This grant provides free self-guided admission when visiting for a field trip, ensuring that diverse audiences, regardless of economic status, have an opportunity to experience the wonders of the Aquarium.

We’re able to provide the SEA Grant thanks to private charitable donations from generous corporations, foundations, and individuals.

SEA Grant Information

 

  • The SEA Grant only covers self-guided general admission and does not include the potential cost of transportation, parking, meals, or any other related field trip costs.
  • Eligible for Title 1 Schools and select non-profits with education as part of its mission in the State of Georgia.
  • Maximum of 150 students covered per field trip visit.
  • Maximum of 3 field trip visits per school.
  • Any approved groups from your school cannot visit on the same date.
  • Dates available Monday – Friday from August 4, 2025 – April 30, 2026. Dates unavailable May 2026-July 2026.
  • Arrival times available between 9:30am – 3:30pm, subject to availability.
  • Entire group must be present before allowed entry to the Aquarium.
  • If you have submitted a reservation form for a paid field trip, you will be disqualified from receiving the SEA Grant.
  • For the 2025-2026 school year, schools from Clayton and DeKalb County School Districts will not be considered. Please reach out to the district coordinators.

Application Information

  • Submission of an application does not guarantee approval.
  • Applications must be accurate and completed in its entirety to be considered.
  • Applications may take up to 6 weeks to be reviewed. Please keep this turnaround date in mind when submitting an application.
  • One application submitted per educator.

    We accept applications on a rolling basis and do our best to send approved/denied emails as quickly as possible. Applications may take up to 6 weeks to be reviewed. We thank you in advance for your patience.

  • Adult Chaperones

    Complimentary Adult Chaperones:

    The number of complimentary chaperone admission tickets we can provide under the SEA Grant will depend on your group size and grade-level. If your student count decreases, the number of complimentary chaperone tickets will also decrease. Please keep in mind that teachers count as chaperones.

    PreK-2nd Grade: 1 complimentary adult for every 5 students

    3rd-12th Grade: 1 complimentary adult for every 10 students

    Additional Adult Chaperones:

    Any additional adults/chaperones outside of the provide comp ratio under the SEA Grant will need to purchase an admission ticket for entry. Please send this discounted ticket link to any additional adults/chaperones who would like to join the visit – www.georgiaaquarium.org/chaperone.

  • Group Meals

    Georgia Aquarium does not allow any outside food and beverage in the facility and we are unable to store lunches or coolers. All coolers and lunches will need to be left on buses and cannot be brought/stored inside. No exceptions can be made. Meal arrangements need to be made in advance.

    Discounted group meal options are available for SEA groups! Please contact sponsored@georgiaaquarium.org for more information on how to pre-purchase.

  • Bus Parking

    Georgia Aquarium does not provide bus parking at our facility. Please visit www.georgiaaquarium.org/busparking for pre-purchase booking information for the GWCC Marshalling Yard which is located about half mile from the aquarium.
