Tim Denney, Vice President of Facility Operations

Tim began his career at Georgia Aquarium more than 20 years ago in Plant Engineering. Throughout his tenure, Tim has played a critical role in every facet of the Aquarium’s physical operations, including major construction projects and complex building systems.
In his role as Vice President of Facility Operations, Tim oversees the Plant Engineering, Life Support Systems (LSS), Safety and Security, and Environmental Operations (EO) teams. Tim provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the continued safety, reliability, and excellence of the Aquarium’s facilities and support systems.

Prior to joining the Georgia Aquarium team, Tim has more than 15 years of experience in electrical construction management, where he was part of teams responsible for building many of the 1996 Olympic venues, as well as the Georgia Aquarium itself. This background has provided Tim with a strong foundation in large-scale, complex infrastructure projects and has contributed to his effectiveness as a facilities leader.

Tim’s deep institutional knowledge, firsthand experience, and strategic approach to facilities management have been instrumental in supporting the organization’s growth, operational excellence, and commitment to animal care and guest experience.
