Jessica Wood, Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Jessica Wood serves as Vice President of Marketing + Communications for Georgia Aquarium, where she oversees the marketing, brand management, consumer engagement, and communications teams, as well as all agencies that support those efforts.

Jessica joined Georgia Aquarium in 2012 as a Public Relations Specialist and has since grown through a series of roles within the marketing and public relations team. Throughout her tenure, she has played a key role in shaping the Aquarium’s brand, strengthening its approach to strategic communications, crisis management, and elevated storytelling on the national media stage through spearheading the launch and production of Animal Planet’s The Aquarium.

Prior to Georgia Aquarium, Jessica built a diverse background in communications and marketing, working in public relations for a variety of clients, and in marketing for entertainment, professional sports and healthcare entities.

Jessica is deeply engaged in the zoo, aquarium, and attractions industries. She previously served as Vice Chair and Chair of the AZA Public Relations Committee and as a member of the IAAPA Public Relations Committee and IAAPA Zoo & Aquarium Committee. She currently serves as an advisor to the AZA PR Committee, is a member of the AZA Annual Conference Planning Committee, Georgia Aquarium’s Animal Welfare Committee, the Atlanta Attractions Marketing Group, and the Georgia State Marketing Roundtable.
Jessica holds a degree in Marketing with an emphasis in Advertising and Promotions from Missouri State University, where she graduated in 2009.
