April - Totally Turtles

Students can visit Georgia Aquarium with their parents during the month of April and learn all about turtles!  Georgia Aquarium is the home to several species of turtles, including the star of the show- Tank, a massive green sea turtle that resides in the Ocean Voyager exhibit. Visit us this month to say hi to Tank and have a totallllly fun time!

March - Invasive Invasion

Wait just a minute!  Something isn’t right!  That species doesn’t belong here!  Families are invited to join us this March for a Family Field Trip centered around invasive species.  Students will learn all about how invasive species are a threat to habitats outside of their natural habitat.  As always, Family Field Trip materials are available for download for free!

February - Worldly Wetlands

Swamps, marshes, mangroves, and lagoons!  We love to talk about what animals eat, but what about where they live?  This month, families are invited to visit Georgia Aquarium for a Family Field Trip centered around the places where animals live.  Learn more about how animals thrive in certain environments and how those same environments provide protection from predators and a source of food.

January - Alligator Allies

Here gator gator….  It’s January and we’re celebrating one of nature’s most fearsome reptiles-  The American Alligator!  American alligators were once endangered, but have made a remarkable recovery.  Your family has the opportunity to visit us this month on a Family Field Trip and get up-close (but not too close) to these animals and their many teeth in our Alligator Crossing habitat.  Learn about where alligators live, how they thrive, and what they eat.  We’ll see you later gator!

October - Having a JAW-some time!

Students can visit Georgia Aquarium with their parents/guardians during the month of October and learn all about sharks!  Did you know not all sharks have rows of razor sharp teeth?  At Georgia Aquarium, students get to observe several species of our resident sharks- including our Whale Sharks- the largest shark in the ocean!  Visit us this month to say hi to all our sharks and have a jaw-some time!
